United Way of Hyderabad endeavors to empower young people in the age group of 15 to 35 and women with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the global economy, attain digital empowerment, and reach their full potential.
India boasts the world's largest youth population, comprising approximately 66 percent of its total. Unfortunately, 30% of this population aged 15-24 years are not engaged in any form of employment, education, or training. Similarly, Labor Force Participation for women of age 15 years and above in the country hovers around 33% according to the data published by the Ministry of Labor & Employment in 2023. Due to this, both of these target groups experience high levels of social and financial instability.
Financial stability is one of the guiding focus areas of United Way of Hyderabad. Access to a stable income allows people to lead a life of dignity. Our skilling and career empowerment projects involve a variety of initiatives aimed at promoting financial stability among youth enrolled in colleges, unemployed youth, and women in urban, semi-urban, and rural areas. Our education empowerment projects with a focus on building women's entrepreneurship look at a comprehensive approach to link entitlements, basic financial and digital literacy as well as pre-incubation and incubation support to women.
